Happy Hour Deals

Its 5 o’clock somewhere…

These days, even foodies are finding themselves on the hunt for the best bargains in town.  So it’s no surprise to find young professionals and recent college graduates seeking out happy hour as a way to survive on a budget and have a taste of fine dining at the same time. Happy hour is being redefined as a time of day to save on full meals at normally higher priced venues. Here is only a small selection of our favorites:

ART at the Four Seasons Seattle
While most happy hours start right after work, the ART Lounge takes a different approach with their cheese and tapas samplings seven days a week from 4:30-10pm in their lounge. Guests can enjoy an all-you-can-eat Northwest tapas like Curried Garbanzo Beans, Orzo Pasta, and Roasted Duck Breast for $14, or sample the cheese table, which features a selection of local, domestic, and imported cheeses with an array of crackers, breads, and condiments set up on ART’s 10 foot-long Douglas fir table for $12. Can’t decide between the two? Enjoy both for only $20.

Sazerac
A City Confidant favorite, Sazerac offers happy hour from 4-8pm Monday thru Saturday. Here you’ll find $4 draft beers, $3 bottled beers, $5 well drinks, and a selection of wine.  The name Sazerac speaks for itself. It’s a famous New Orleans cocktail that elicits thoughts of classic taste and timelessness, and naturally, Sazerac features this signature drink.  These same stylish allusions are reflected in the food—from Crispy Truffles of Yukon potato, truffle cheese, and aioli to BBQ pulled pork with aged white cheddar or Chicken Liver Mousse. Snacks range from $3-$14 and are the perfect size to mix and match.  Your palette will appreciate the wide variety of charcuterie, pizzas, and truffle bites.

Laredo’s Grill
If you want to momentarily step out of Seattle and into the Southwest, try visiting Laredo’s Grill, the ultimate Tex-Mex destination for happy hour daily from 4-6 pm.  Not only can you enjoy sports on TV at the bar, but the ambience lends itself to a vacation-like feeling.  The most talked about drink is their Avocado Margarita, which may sound suspect but is amazingly smooth with a subtle flavor.  Their authentic food selection is inspired by their house guacamole, the Steak Laredo with cilantro jalapeno butter and frizzled onions, and Mahi Mahi fish tacos with Tecate beer batter and cilantro slaw.  Eight items from their regular menu are selected for their happy hour offering at $4.

Stumbling Goat Bistro
Want to go local?  Try the Stumbling Goat Bistro for happy hour at the bar Tuesday thru Sunday from 4-6pm.  This local favorite is a hidden gem on Phinney Ridge that supports local organic farmers.  Find yourself in an intimate setting of deep reds and yellows as you enjoy beers for $4, wine for $6, and all snacks for $6, and under. Taste the Hangar Steak sandwich with pickled red onion, arugula and horseradish aioli,  the House Pate with Dijon mustard and onion marmalade, or the Arugula Citrus Salad with shaved fennel.  Pair any of these with a Pear Ginger cocktail, a fusion of ginger vodka, organic pear nectar, and lemon juice.  Unique local flavors for a good cause!
